Inadequate Staff delay patients Consultation at Primary Health Centers- Bauchi Covid19RM Report.

In an effort to Strengthen Health System, improve access to quality Care and Community involvement in taking ownerships at the Primary Health Centers, the Global Fund Covid19RM Grant is been Implemented in Bauchi State.

Speaking during a one day Media Round table on the First Quarter Implementation of the project , the State Program Coordinator Global Fund Grant Who is also the Chairman Network of People living with HIV Aids in Nigeria NEPHWAN Abdullahi Ibrahim said the Media Round table is an avenue to present achievements and Challenges while Implementing the project in the State.

Abdullahi Ibrahim explain that the project engaged 15 Community Base Organisation to advocate increase Health Care System Strengthening at the Health Care Centers.

He said the Project is been Implemented in 5 Local Government Areas of Bauchi, Darazo, Misau, Katagum and Tafawa Balewa.

The State Chairman NEPHWAN reveal that the project is aim at addressing Health Issues in a sustainable, equitable and effective manner, including services to combat HIV/AIDs, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

“It also to pre-position Nigeria’s Pandemic preparedness and response system to respond to a possible third wave of the pandemic and to maintain the current COVID-19 Control and Containment measures”

Presenting the score card for the first quarter Implementation of the Project, the State Programme Officer Dauda Makkah said the project has achieve success in the areas of clients patronage to facilities, improve Services at the facilities, Community involvement to take ownership in the Healthcare Centers among others.

“So far we have recorded some success, we had a very good acceptance, welcome buy in from respective communities we are working with and this has gone along way to help us achieve greater success because of the level of advocacy we have conducted through stakeholders engagement and other responses”

Dauda Makkah further emphasis that some of the challenges identify Include inadequate Health personnel, lack of drugs and test kit for the ATM.

He advocated strong collaboration between the Communities and facilities staff for improve service delivery.
