Nigeria Police Force Warns NNHW Against Corporal Punishment

In a bid to ensure crime-free society, the Nigeria Police Force, has charged volunteer security outfits to be cautious of corporal punishment and ensure professionalism while discharging their respective duties.

Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Mohammad gave the charge when he granted audience to the volunteer security outfit, Nigeria Neighbourhood Watch (NNHW) in his office at the Force Headquarters of the State Command.

CP Auwal Mohammad emphasized the need for NNHW to exhibit high sense of responsibility and adhere to professional standards when discharging their responsibility of saving lives and property.

He urged them to refer all arrests to the police for further investigation and subsequently charge the accused before the courts.

The state Commissioner of Police encourage NNHW to sustain the already existing cordial relationship with the Nigeria Police Force, calling on corporate organizations and individuals to as part of their social responsibility, assist the volunteer security outfit to enable them help the society effectively.

Speaking to journalists the National Commander, Nigeria Neighbourhood Watch, Isma’il Shu’aibu said the essence of the visit was to show the organization’s support to the Nigeria Police Force and appreciate CP Mohammed Auwal.

Meanwhile, as part of activities to celebrate the 49th anniversary of its establishment. the Nigeria Neighbourhood Watch, NNHW has presented an Award of Excellence to the State Commissioner of Police, sensitized commercial drivers at Muda Lawal Motor Park on the need to be vigilant and security conscious in their daily duties and decorating NNHW members with new ranks.
