NSSEC Moves to Set Standards in Secondary Education System, held Stakeholders Workshop in Bauchi.

In Bauchi State, the National Senior Secondary Education Commission NSSEC is engaging relevant Stakeholders on the implementation of Minimum Standards Document for Senior Secondary Education across the nineteen northern states.

The Three Day Workshop is being attended by officials from the commission’s head office Abuja, Directors of Education from across the three northern geopolitical zones and representatives of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools ANCOPSS who are expected to brainstorm on the proposed policy frame for effective implementation.

At the opening of the workshop in Bauchi, the Executive Secretary of the Commission Dr. Iyela Ajayi said at the end of exercise the participants would come up with a unified and acceptable document aimed at setting the required standards in Senior Secondary Education Sub-sector for effective service delivery.

Dr. Iyela Ajayi who said the bill for the establishment of the Commission was enacted in May this year to manage NSSEC fund and matter connected therewith maintained that there will be sanctions for any state that fails to comply with these standards.

He charged the participants to make fruitful contributions towards achieving the desired objectives.

Some of the participants, the National President of ANCOPSS Muhammad Ibn Musa and Permanent Secretary Bauchi State Ministry of Education Dr. Sule Adamu Madara said the move would make significant impact in changing the narrative of education system in the country.

They whoever stressed the need to incorporate States Ministries of Education in the implementation process.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the commission would organized similar exercise at the Southern Zone of the Country.
