KNSG Distributes #53 million free maternal, accident and emergency drugs to hospitals

Kano state government says it has spent fifty three million naira, to procure free maternal and emergency drugs, for distribution to 13 hospitals in the state.
The executive secretary Kano state Hospital Management board Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda made the call while distributing the drugs, to health facilities in Kano.
He explained that, 40 million naira free maternal and child drugs were procured, while 13 million was spent on accident and emergency drugs.
The executive Secretary said, the board had set up a committee saddled with the responsibilities of monitoring the distribution, to ensure maximum utilization.
Dr. Mansur noted that, that a register would be put in place, to collate records of activities in the facilities to achieve the desired objectives.
“We have set a committee for for free maternal, accident and emergency committee that will oversee the activities of distribution and utilization of these items, in addition, we will set a register that would records the nominal name of patients and their file numbers in the hospital,”
In his remarks, Kano state commissioner of health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf explained that,ten general, specialist hospitals, and three primary healthcare facilities benefitted from the free drugs, which includes Nuhu Bamalli Hospital, Hasiya Bayero Pediatric hospital, Wudil general hospital, Gezawa general hospital, Murtala Muhammad specialist hospital, Sir Muhammadu Abdullahi Wase teaching hospital ans Munjibir general hospital.
Others are Tudu-wada general hospital, Bichi general hospital, Danbatta general hospital, gwagwarwa primary health care, Jaen primary health care and Dala M. C. H.
Radio Nigeria reports that, directors and top management staff from the ministry, and hospitals Management board were part of the distribution team, across the 13 health facilities.
