Yobe Governor Commends Emir of Fune’s Cultural Leadership

The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has commended the Emir of Fune, Alhaji Saleh Idris Ibn Usman, for reflecting the diverse cultural identities of the people of his emirate council.

The governor made the commendation at the 25th anniversary celebration of the emir’s reign.

Represented by his deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, Governor Buni said the occasion marked a milestone in the life of the emir, worthy of celebration, considering the rarity of spending 25 years on the throne.

He congratulated the emir and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant him many more years of wisdom and strength in steering the affairs of the Fune Emirate.

In his welcome address, the Emir of Fune, Alhaji Saleh Idris Ibn Usman, thanked Allah for sparing his life to witness his 25th anniversary on the throne. The emir expressed appreciation to Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration for supporting the emirate council at all times.

He encouraged youths to participate fully in farming activities as the rainy season begins and appealed to herders and farmers to live in peace with one another, noting that no society can achieve success without peace and unity.

The emir thanked the people of the emirate and the Fune Local Government for their unwavering support, understanding, and loyalty.

As part of the celebrations, the emir turbaned newly appointed district heads, including Alhaji Ahmed Idi Barde as Jarman Fune and District Head of Gunaba, Alhaji Idrissa Mai Sale as District Head of Damagum, and Abubakar Mai Sale as District Head of Janga.

The occasion was attended by prominent personalities, including the President of the 9th Senate, Ahmed Lawan; the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi; the Representative of the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III; and the Chairman of Yobe State Council of Chiefs and Emir of Fika, Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa, among other traditional rulers from across Nigeria.
