Taraba State Governor charge soldiers to remain loyal to God.

Taraba state Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has described soldiers’ loyalty to God as the strength of the Nigerian Army.

Governor Kefas stated this during a service to commemorate this year’s Nigerian Army Day celebration held at Salvation Baptist Church in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital.

Governor Kefas pointed out that loyalty to God is not only imperative but guides the soldiers’ action, enabling them to remain steadfast and courageous in the face of challenges.

He urged the army and Nigerians to prioritize loyalty to God, pointing out that it is the foundation of true spiritual transformation, strength, hope, and resilience.

Commenting on the Nigeria Army Day Celebration, Governor Kefas said the Army is an institution with a long and proud history of service and sacrifice.

He emphasized that commemorating the Day is not only to honour officers who are alive but to pay tribute to the fallen heroes who paid the supreme price in defending the nation.

In his goodwill message, Brigade Commander, Six Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidebere Uwa lauded Governor Agbu Kefas for his unwavering support to the Army which has significantly eased their operations and improved security within the state.

In a sermon title: “The loyalty of a soldier as a catalyst for spiritual transformation, Chaplain, Six Brigade Nigerian Army Chapel, Major Reverend S. Samaila said loyalty is an individuals’ devotion to a country, philosophy, group, or person.

Taking his scriptural reading from 2 Samuel 23: 13 and citing an example with the story of David who demonstrated loyalty, the clergy stressed the need for loyalty to God in driving spiritual transformation.

He called on soldiers, officers, and men alike to be loyal and remain focused in the discharge of their duties in order to revitalise the Army and the country at large.

Nigerian Army Day, also known as the Nigerian Army Day Celebration, is observed annually on the 6th of July, and this year’s theme is “Developing the Soldier First Concept: Imperative for the Nigerian Army’s Transformation Drive.”
