Bauchi AGILE, SISWACHI trains 300 Female Community Mentors, Guidance Counsellors on Life Skills manual.

The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment AGILE AF Project in Bauchi State, says one hundred schools under the basic education sub sector have been selected to benefit from the Life Skills Component of the project.

The State AGILE Component Lead, Life Skills Training, Malama Sabuwa Tahir, who disclosed this during a five-day training on Life Skills Manual for three hundred female Community Mentors and Guidance Counsellors, said the training will help them to equip adolescent girls with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve their future goals.

Sabuwa Tahir said the selected schools would serve as pilot for the exercise and thereafter senior secondary schools across the state will be co-opted to consolidate on the success recorded.

In an address, the Guidance and Counselling Officer, AGILE Life Skills Component National Office, Abuja Mrs. Grace Jackson, noted that the project component seeks to increase adolescent girls enrollment and give them opportunities to achieve their academic goals.

Mrs. Grace Jackson said the training will equip the female community mentors and guidance counselors with the knowledge and skills to implement the Life Skills Component of the project in all the selected pilot communities.

The training which drew participants from Bauchi, Ningi, Ganjuwa, and Toro Local Governments, was organised by AGILE in partnership with Syndicate in Supporting Women and Children SISWACHI.
