The Nigerian Bible Translation Trust NBTT has appealed to the Government of Yobe State, to allow Karai-Karai language be taught in schools along with other generally approved languages.

The Executive Director Nigeria Bible Translation Trust (NBTT) Mrs. Patience Toma made the plea in her speech at the KKBLA Testament Dakarma Launching/Dedication at ECWA Church 1 Potiskum, Yobe State.

She said the move especially in Potiskum when applied, will promote literacy in their mother tongue which is in accordance with the National Policy on Education and with particular reference to some sections on development of indigenous languages.

While speaking to the Karai-Karai people she urged them to encouraged the use of this translation, which is a step towards life transformation.

She also appealed to the Sons and Daughtuers of the entire community not to relent in their support to the project financially and materially, especially as we match into the Old Testament

She explained that the indiscipline, moral decadence, corruption, bad economy, disaster, hunger, poverty. immorality, kidnapping, insurgency and many other vices witnessed in the country today are all as a result of doing things our own way and leaving God aside.

Mrs Patience noted that the work of translations is a huge task; that needs so many materials and equipments, adding that NBTT and her partners have geared every effort towards making this vision a reality for other communities in volatile areas.
