NLC TUC Declare Total strike in Bauchi from Tuesday 14.

The Organise Labour in Bauchi State says it will embark on an indefinite strike from Tuesday the fourteenth of November 2023.
The State Chairman Trade Union Congress Comrade Sabiu Barau made this known after an emergency executives Council meeting of the Unions
Comrade Sabiu Barau explain that the strike was necessitated by the need to press home their lingering demands on the threat to life of the NLC National leader Comrade Joe Agaero in Imo State.
” You will recalled that sometimes last week the National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress Comrade Joe Agaero was Physical attack, assaulted, injured by the agents of Imo state government.
The Labour keenly waited for the reaction of government but yet no any words of concerns came from the government.
The leadership convenes the national executives Council meeting where all the chairman and secretaries are in attendance the issues was throughly discourse and agreed that the office of the National President is sacrosanct and therefore should not be subjected to this kind of ill treatment without the reaction of members”
Comrade Sabiu Barau said the NLC and TUC national Secretariat have directed their affiliates to mobilize their members for the strike.
The Labour leader maintain that the strike will be total.
Comrade Sabiu Barau emphasis that the Organise Labour has withdraw all services including air transportation, electricity, fuel supply in Imo state as well picketing Airport in Abuja and Lagos state.
The TUC Chairman call on members to be on red alert and prepare for the total shutdown of the state.
In another development the National Industrial Court has granted an order of interim injunction restraining members of the Organise Labour, including the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and their affiliates from proceeding with the planned strike schedule to commence on November 14.
President of the Court, Justice Benedict Kanyip, granted the order on Friday while ruling on an ex-parte application brought by the Attorney General of the federation.
Justice Kanyip said the order shall subsist pending the determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction filed by the Attorney General of the Federation.
Justice Kanyip said the Court is empowered under sections 7(1) and 19(a) of the NICN Establishment Act, to hear such an ex-parte application and grant such an ex-parte order where a strike is threatened but yet to be commenced as in this case.
