The Kano state government (KNSG),has reaffirmed it’s dedication in collaborating with the Nigeria association of women journalists (NAWOJ), to uplift women to international standard.

The state commissioner of Women,children and disabled Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji,made the disclosure while recieving the executives of Kano NAWOJ in her office.

She described female journalists as partners in progress,hence the need to work together to achieve the desired objectives.

The commissioner pointed out that, the strength of female journalists should not be under rated, due to their contributions to the development of the entire nation.

Hajiya Aisha, urged the executive members to work towards aiding the success of the ministry, by disseminating information about its activities ,saying that, the success of the ministry is equally a success of governor Abba Kabir Yusuf,whose concern for the plights of women, children and People With Disability (PWD) is beyond doubt.

She therefore, urged them to cover and spread the numerous activities of the ministry, in the course of their official assignments.

Earlier in her remarks, the Chairperson of the association, Hafsat Sani Usman, pointed out that, they were at the ministry to congratulate the Commissioner, and introduce themselves as the executives of NAWOJ, Kano State Chapter.

She noted that,NAWOJ would provide all the necessary support, in addition to exploring possible ways of collaborating with the ministry and NGOs, to further promote and protect the rights of women, children and the vulnerables in the state.

Others who spoke includes, the permanent secretary ministry of women affairs Hajiya Sa’adatu Sa’idu Bala, and the secretary NAWOJ Kano state chapter Elizabeth Yila Lamido.
