ITF Trains Over One Hundred And Ninety Youths In Different Skills Acquisition In Kaduna State

The Industrial Training Fund ITF has trained one hundred and ninety five youths under National Industrial Skills Development Programmes in Kaduna State.

The Director General of the fund, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun stated this at the closing ceremony of this year Intervention Programmes held at ITF office in Kaduna.

He explained that the one hundred and ninety five youths were equipped with skills in solar power installation, hair dressing/beauty care, painting and pop, tailoring and fashion design, wig cap making, mobile phone repairs, electrical installation and leather works.

The Director General of the fund, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun who was represented by the Area Manager, ITF Kaduna Area office Engr. Garba Hassan further explained that ITF partnered with Nigeria Breweries to ensure the success of the training in Kaduna State and some states in the country.

The Director General said the fund was committed to skill acquisition and ensure it sustainable solution to combatting unemployment, reducing poverty and youth restiveness in the country.

He suggested that the fund required a new direction and focus in order for the policies and goals of the Tinubu’s administration to be achieved.

In his goodwill message, the Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Mr. Hans Essaadi encouraged the participants to continue seeking knowledge, adapting to change and embracing new challenges, adding that the skills and equipment acquired during the training are not just tools for today but assets for a lifetime.

He said NB Pls empowerment programmes which stated in 2019 was inspired by an ancient principle that you cannot succeed as a business without investing in the communities where you operate.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Area Manager, ITF Kaduna Area office Engr. Garba Hassan who was represented by the Assistant Director, Head of Training, Mr. Daniel Jamgbade warned the participants against selling the start-up packs due to its importance to them and their families.

He also urged them to utilize the opportunity provided by the training to make a decent living for themselves and also be good ambassadors of the ITF, adding that the start-up packs is their tickets to the world and also opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the Nigerian economy.

The Area Manager, Engr. Garba Hassan assured that each of the participants would received their start-up packs during the occasion.

The representative of Ministry of Business Innovation and Technology, the Permanent Secretary Dr. Yusuf Saleh commended ITF Kaduna State Area Office for complementing government’s efforts in reducing poverty and youth restiveness particularly among the youths.

The representative of the participants, Ibrahim Lurwanu thanks all the stakeholders particularly ITF for changing their life to a better one and promised to utilize the start-up packs positively.
