ATAP Bauchi seeks To Provide Additional Degree Courses Under its Affiliation Programme.

The Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic ATAP Bauchi says it is leveraging on its existing facilities to provide additional Degree programmes to satisfy the growing demands from the populace.

The Acting Rector of the Institution Dr Hashim Sabo Bello stated this at the 7th Matriculation Ceremony for affiliate degree programmes with the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University ATBU for the 2023/2024 academic session held in Bauchi.

Dr Hashim Bello who said the polytechnic currently offers only education affiliate degree programmes, underscored the need to introduce other conventional courses to make it a hybrid institution of learning.

“We are trying to make ATAP to ne a hybrid educational environment as it is so that we can bring more conventional courses, but now we only major in education courses and there are a lot of demands out there from our mother society that there’s need to bring more conventional courses so that many of our youth can get educational opportunities to come and learn in this serene environment”, Dr Hashim explains.

While acknowledging the standard, guidelines and procedures set by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB and the University for admission, the Rector warned that the polytechnic has zero tolerance to all kinds of vices such as cultism, exams malpractice, drug abuse, indecent dressing among others.

“Our duty is not only to give you access to knowledge, but to also help in molding your character so that you become responsible and productive citizens of the country. We wil therefore not hesitate to show the way out for those who are too arrogant to conform to these rules”, He warns.

Declaring the event open, the Vice Chancellor, ATBU, Professor Muhammad Ahmad Abdul’azeez represented by the Dean Faculty of Technology Education Professor Hassan Bello said the event serves as requirement to become a bonafide members of the university.

“As the tradition demands, we are here today to perform this prerequisite function in order to formally admit you into the mainstream of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University community”, Professor Abdul’azeez states.

Professor Muhammad Abdul’azeez who disclosed that a total of 144 students were admitted under the twelve affiliate degree programmes, said the oath taken by the matriculants is an indication of their readiness to abide by the institution’s laws and statutes.

He used the medium to appreciate the state government and host community for the support rendered to the polytechnic towards realising the vision and mission of both institutions.
“Our special regard goes to the Bauchi State Government for its tireless support which is a mark of seriousness to the development of education as a vehicle for transformation”, the VC appreciates.

The Programmes offered under the affiliation include Biology, Chemistry, Computer, Integrated Science, Mathematics, Automobile, Building Technology, Electrical Education, Metal Work, Woodwork Technology, Business and Agriculture all under faculty of technology education.
