Last batch of 175 Borno pilgrims airlifted to Holy land

Some members of the last batch of intending pilgrims from Borno State shortly before their departure to Madinah.

The last batch of batch of 175 intending pilgrims from Borno state have arrived Prince Muhammad ibn Abdulaziz International Airport Madina, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The intending pilgrims including Governor Babagana Zulum, the state Amirul Hajj Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan and other officials of the Pilgrims Welfare Board left Muhammadu Buhari International Airport Maiduguri at 2:35 Saturday morning and arrived Madina 8:10 local time.

The airlift of Borno pilgrims commenced on 27th May with over 1,600 currently in Macca after completing their stay in Madina. 

1,815 pilgrims from Borno State will perform the 2024 Hajj which according to Saudi Arabian authority will start on Friday 14th of June.

Correspondent Dauda Iliya who is currently in Macca reports other contingents in the last flight include members of the National and State assemblies, commissioners and some heads of federal government agencies.
