Bauchi MoH Partners Health System Strengthening Cluster, Towards Improving ISS

Bauchi State Commissioner of Health, Dr Adamu Sambo has called for more community engagement to enable people have access to quality healthcare services across the state.

Dr Adamu Sambo who made the call when he granted audience to Health System Strengthening Cluster, at the COVID-19 Emergency Operation Center of the ministry, said communities have vital role to play in ensuring improved healthcare services delivery.

Dr Adamu Sambo said achieving Universal Health Coverage cannot be realized if people from the grassroots were not giving the opportunity to access quality healthcare services.

He assured the ministry’s readiness to collaborate with any organization out to assist the state government towards improving the health status of its people.

Earlier, a member of a member of the Health System Strengthening Cluster, Asma’u Yahaya said the The Health System Strengthening Cluster is implementing project titled Improved Quality Healthcare Service Delivery through Integrated Supportive Supervision (ISS).

The cluster comprises of six Civil Society Organisations across the country, to include Life Transformation for Africa (LIFT4AFRICA), Council for Affirmative Action (COFA), and She Alert Care Foundation.

Others are, Bauchi State Network of Civil Societies (BASNEC) Women with Integrity & Development Initiative (WDIDI) and Better Life Restoration Initiative (BERI).

The Health System Strengthening Cluster however expressed concern that the budgeted amount of the state’s 2024 quarter one for the Integrated Supportive Supervision 2024 Budget Performance Report indicates that nothing was released to that aspect.

It solicited to partnership with the ministry to strengthening the state’s Integrated Supportive Supervision with a view to improving the budget line of that aspect.

Radio Nigeria reports that the Health System Strengthening Cluster had paid similar visits to the Executive Chairman of the State Primary Health Care Development Board and the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning and Multilateral Coordination where they all assured readiness for partnership to achieve the desired outcome.
