FCCPC Sensitize Religious and Traditional Leaders on Activities Of Commission

Traditional and religious leaders in Bauchi have been urged to enlighten their followers on the dangers of using substandard products.

The acting executive chairman of the Consumer Protection Agency, Adamu Abdullahi made the call while interacting with the leaders in Bauchi.

Adamu Abdullahi stated that it is the responsibility of the agency to ensure that consumers get value for their money. He said the commission would advise the government to open its borders to improve the importation of food, which would help stabilize prices in the market.

As a mediator, the agency ensures that substandard products are either repaired, replaced, or that the consumer’s money is refunded.

In his response, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, represented by the District Head of Lame, Alh Aliyu Lame, assured the readiness of the traditional institution in enlightening the public on the activities of the commission to ensure the sensitization reaches the target audience.

Some of the other participants included District Heads under the Bauchi Emirate, the Bauchi CAN chairman Abraham Damina, and the former Secretary of the Bauchi State Shari’a Commission, Ustaz Tijjani. Promise to sensitize their people on the activities of the commission.
