EMIR OF GOMBE CALLS FOR PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE FOR DEVELOPMENT.

The Emir of Gombe, Alh. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III has called on the residents of Gombe state to continue living in peace and harmony with one another for the overall development of the state and the country as a whole.

The Royal Father, who is also the chairman of the Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs, made this call in his Eid-ul-Adha message shortly after completing the Sallah Durbar at his palace in the state capital.

Alh. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III who described peace as a bedrock of any sustainable development, urged the residents to uphold the habit of maintaining peace and abiding by the law and order.

He encouraged farmers to work assiduously in cultivating farm produce in this year’s rainy season to have adequate food in the state, appealing to them and the herdsmen to avoid any conflict that will lead to misunderstandings between them.

Speaking on the significance of self-reliance, the Emir urged the people of the state, especially the youth, not to hesitate to take up various handicrafts and improve them to safeguard their elegance and contribute their quota to the economic advancement of the state.

Earlier, the chief Imam of Gombe Central Mosque, Barr. Aliyu Hammari led the two- raka’at prayer that marks Eid-ul-Adha at the Central Eid Ground in Gombe town.

Dignitaries at the Durbar include the Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahya, the Secretary to the State Government, Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Abubakar Muhammad Luggerewo, among other top government officials.
