The Organized Labour in Bauchi State has called on the state government to address grey areas concerning remittance into the coffers of the newly created Contributory Pension Commission for workers to have confidence in the scheme.
The State NLC Chairman, Comrade Dauda Shuaibu who made the appeal in Bauchi when he granted audience to the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Malam Ibrahim Inuwa said there are some issues needed clarification for workers to understand operations of the scheme.


Comrade Dauda Shuaibu who is also the Chairman of the state’s Organized Labour said the grey areas include exemption of Permanent Secretaries, Political Office Holders and civil servants that have less than three years to go on retirement among others.
He insisted that deductions and remittance should be bounded to avoid repeat of problems previous similar schemes encountered.
Earlier, Executive Secretary of the Commission Malam Ibrahim Inuwa who sought for the support of the Organized Labour towards smooth take up of the programme said already 18 states across the country have keyed into the scheme.
Malam Ibrahim Inuwa who said the aim of the interaction with the leadership of the Organized Labour was to solicit for support towards successful implementation of the scheme in the State.
He explained that under the scheme, 10% would be deducted from earnings of all employees and 8 percent from the state government.
Also speaking the State TUC Chairman Muhammad Sabiu Barau emphasized the critical role of the Organized Labour play in the fight of the rights of the workers and assured total support for the commission to succeed.
