The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON has successfully transported over 36,000 Nigerian pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj exercise.
This was disclosed by the Commission’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, Hajiya Fatima Sanda Usara in an official statement.
She confirmed that the Commission aims to complete its airlift operations by 30th May.
According to her, as of the time of the report, approximately 5,494 pilgrims under the government quota were still awaiting airlift.
In response to logistical delays, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, in collaboration with designated service providers has called for the immediate resolution of all outstanding issues to ensure a smooth continuation of the pilgrimage process.
NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successes recorded so far and prayed for continued progress throughout the Hajj season.
He also extended appreciation to the Commission’s various stakeholders for their contributions and commended the pilgrims for their patience and orderly conduct.
