NIS Rescues 8 Suspected Victims Of Human Trafficking In Jigawa

Nigeria Immigration Service says it has rescued eight victims of human trafficking in Dutse, jigawa state.
The Jigawa state Comptroller Mr Samson Umar Agada disclosed this while parading the victims at the command headquarters in Dutse, the state capital.
According to him, the victims include six females and two males between the ages of 16 and 24 from Abia, Benue and Ebonyi states.
He further explained that, upon their interception by the men of the command at Dutse motor park, the victims confessed that they were instructed to inform any security agents that they were in the state to act as vendors for supplements.
The Comptroller pointed out that, on further interrogation the command discovered that their courier who is a staff of a company use the deception to get the victims trafficked across the border from jigawa state to Niger Republic and onward to North Africa.
He said the victims include Friday Amo, Mary Godwin, Barnabas Agatta Chikwado, Gar Godwin and Antonia Nyior.
Agada said, Others also include Victoria Amor, Nyior Rita, Barnabas Agape Uchechi and Emeka John.
He said the couriers positioned them selves in layers where they board the victims in ship through the atlantic ocean to europe.
Samson Agada noted that, Peter Dickson who is also the recruiter based in Benue state and Emeka John the trafficker from Ebonyi based in Hadejia local government area of jigawa state arrange their final transit across the border to Niger republic.
He added that, all the victims parents contacted by the command denied knowledge or giving consents on their mission to be Trafickked out of the country.
Samson Umar Agada said the command will hand over the victims to NAPTIP in order to unite the victims to their parents.
The Immigration Boss therefore, appealed to parents and guardians to watch over their children from been deceived by human trafickkerstrafickkers.
He urged parents, guardians and the general public to instill patriotism in their wards to stay in their country of origin and build it to greater heights.
Agada also called on the general public to report cases of human trafficking and other related criminal acts to the nearest security agencies.
