USAID State2State Activity Supports Bauchi Government On 2024-2026 MTSS Development

A five-day workshop on development of Bauchi State 2024 to 2026 Medium Term Sector Strategy (MTSS) for Education, Health and Water Sanitation and Hygiene, WASH Sectors has commenced.

The workshop was organized by the State Ministry of Budget, Economic and Multilateral Coordination with support from the USAID funded State Accountability Transparency and Effectiveness (State2State) Activity, Bauchi Field Office.

Declaring the Workshop open, the State Commissioner for Budget, Economic and Multilateral Coordination, Aminu Hammayo said the workshop was apt in view of the country’s economic realities occasioned by the recent removal of fuel subsidy.

Aminu Hammayo represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Idris Sale Giade noted that the state has an existing ten-year development plan which needs to be looked into with a view to reflect current market realities.

He charged the participants to be focused and attentive throughout the five-day sessions.

The objectives of the workshop according to one of the resource persons, Dr. Adeboye Adeyemo were to equip the participants the knowledge of MTSS and its importance in strengthening budget preparation process.

He said it was also to expose them to understand the policy frameworks that support Medium Term Sector Strategy and have a feel of the key activities involved in the developing it.

Dr. Adeyemo said other objectives of the workshop were to expose the participants on the use of work tools for developing the Medium Term Sector Strategy for roll out in the State.

In a remark, the Health Financing Advisor of USAID funded Integrated Health Program (IHP), Mr Khalid Kasimu said IHP was committed to participate fully and offer any support to ensure the success of the five-day engagement.
