Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, led a powerful All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign delegation to Bagwai and Shanono Local Government Areas of Kano State in a last-minute push for victory in Saturday’s State House of Assembly bye-election.
The campaign rally, which also featured the Chairman of the House of Representatives Appropriation Committee, Engr. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi, and the APC State Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, drew hundreds of party loyalists.
The supporters, dressed in specially designed APC attires, thronged the streets in a convoy of vehicles chanting solidarity songs and pledging resounding victory for the party’s candidate, Ahmad Kadamu.
Addressing the crowd, APC State Chairman Abdullahi Abbas warned against any attempt to manipulate the electoral process, describing the upcoming poll as “too important to be tampered with.”
He expressed confidence in APC’s chances but called on security agencies to ensure the exercise is free from vote buying, ballot snatching, or violence.
“We are going to win, but we want this victory to be clean. We are calling on security agencies to be vigilant and protect the integrity of the process,” Abbas said.
In his remarks, Engr. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi assured supporters that APC’s performance at the federal level under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would guarantee the party an easy win.
He revealed that the President had approved ₦10 billion for the construction of the Bichi–Bagwai/Shanono–Gwarzo federal road, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and easing transportation in the area.
“This is just one of several projects already committed to our constituency. With the level of development coming from the APC-led government, victory is certain,” Bichi stated.
Senator Barau Jibrin told the gathering that electing Ahmad Kadamu would further strengthen federal presence in the constituency and pave the way for greater political gains in the future.
“Voting APC in this bye-election means consolidating our strength for the 2027 gubernatorial and presidential elections. Let us come out in large numbers on Saturday and show our support,” Barau urged.
