KBSG Approved N1.7bn For Gratuity, Death Benefits and Contract Staff

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, has approved the sum of over N1.7 billion for the payment of gratuity, death benefit and contract staff to State, Local Government and Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) retirees.
In a statement by the State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Sufyanu Garba-Bena, said the sum of N1,795,505,173,08 billion has been approved for the payment of retired civil servants and death gratuity to 745 State, Local Government, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) and contract staff from May 15th to October 15th 2023.
According to the statement, 745 retirees were screened and verified by the office of the Head of Service through a committee comprising the organised labour and other stakeholders.
It said, the breakdown indicated that, 318 gratuity, death and contract staff beneficiaries payment amount to N972,710,4million is for the state retirees.
The statement explained that, payment for local Government gratuity, death benefits to 247 beneficiaries amounts to N427,971,191,33 million while payment for LGEA gratuity, death benefits to 180 beneficiaries amount to N394,823,495.83 million making a total sum of N1,795,505,173,08 billion.
